Cookie Policy

Last updated: 23/09/2026

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your computer, phone or tablet when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your choices and to give site owners information about how their site is used.

Similar technologies such as local storage, pixels and device identifiers do much the same job. Where this policy says “cookies”, it covers those too.

2. Cookies we set

Spartans Gym and Fitness does not set any cookies of its own on this website. We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies or tracking pixels and we do not build a profile of you as you move around the site.

Our hosting provider may set strictly necessary cookies that keep the site secure and working correctly. These cannot be switched off, are not used to identify you and are not used for marketing.

3. Cookies set by others

Google Maps

Our Contact page shows a Google Map so you can find the gym at 46 Rashee Road, Ballyclare, BT39 9HJ. That map is loaded from Google and Google may set its own cookies on your device when the page opens. We do not control those cookies and we cannot read them.

Google explains what it collects through embedded maps in its own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

Facebook and Instagram

Our social links open Facebook and Instagram in a new tab. Those sites set their own cookies once you arrive, under their own policies. Simply having the links on our pages does not set any cookie.

4. How to control cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you:

  • (a)see which cookies are stored and delete them individually or all at once;
  • (b)block third-party cookies, which would stop the embedded map from setting them;
  • (c)block cookies from particular websites;
  • (d)block all cookies, though parts of many websites will stop working if you do;
  • (e)delete all cookies when you close the browser.

Guidance for each browser is published by its maker and the Information Commissioner’s Office gives plain-English advice on cookies at ico.org.uk.

5. Changes to this policy

If we start using cookies for anything beyond keeping the site running, such as website analytics, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before those cookies are set. The date at the top shows when this policy was last changed.

6. Who can I contact?

If you have questions about how we use cookies, email williamthompson80@icloud.com or write to us at 46 Rashee Road, Ballyclare, BT39 9HJ. You can also read our Privacy Policy to see how we handle personal information more generally.
